"Political tensions rise in Ivory Coast as Gbagbo's top allies arrested"
Summary
The National Army of Cote D'ivoire was attacked by some violent gunmen who were possibly connected to the former Ivory Coast leading party members. Former party leaders' allies have been put in custody as well as some of the gunmen, but this appears to be only coincidence. These former leaders were arrested because of the threats they have made that harms national security -- the gunmen detained as they were violent. However, the main reason for the arrests is to eventually behead this former leading party.
Emotions.
Outtara is a bit over insecure about the entire situation. Sure, the deaths of the party leaders would ruin morale for their side, but that's shamefully violent. And of course the skirmishes between groups are also terrible, but maybe bribery could coax them to come to the good side -- bribery: an unsavory tactic, but useful in many situations.
Relation to Politics
Two opposing parties are labeled as political partisanship. When they are issuing violence against each other, it is more than that -- the violence that the former Party held had a political goal: to take back power from the current leadership. These actions relate the violent skirmishes between the nation's army and gunmen into the bubble of politics.
